Overview of the mountain

Okukuji Nantai-san isn't a popular mountain even for Japanese, and it's not enough of a challenge for pro-hikers because of low altitude. But this mountain has some of charms like rock climbing (at a moderate adventure), walking in silence (not so crowded) and colorful foliage in autumn. Though considerable road walks are required, you can bang your own drum if you achieve this rare mountain trip! You can choose returning to Saigane-station or traverse for Tsukiore-san.

My visiting report: 9-Jul-2015, fine

At 10:30AM, started walking from Saigane station.
At 11:30AM, after about an hour roadwalk, we arrived at Daienchi-platz. Dropped in on the toilet at the parking, jumped into the trailcourse!
At 11:45AM, the trailcourse split into two ways, easy or hard. We chose the hard one, which required even rockclimbing with chains.
At 13:10PM, we got to the peak of Mt.Okukuji Nantai-san. After having had lunch, we headed for Mt.Tsukiore-san.
At 16:00PM, we were on the top of Mt.Tsukiore. There had been a fortress around the peak until 17th century.
At 16:50PM, we arrived at the trailhead of Mt.Tsukiore and headed for a certain Japanese-style-inn. And having take a taxi from there, we went to "Sekisho-no-yu" to indulge in Onsen (hotspring)! Fukuroda station is about 15 minutes from there.
