Overview of the mountain

Mt.Hinata-yama is known for its summit covered with white sand like a beach. One of the trailcourse connects the trailhead and summit less than 2 hours, so even children can reach the top easily (not with the trail introduced here).
And this area is famous for the clearness of water, which a famous Japanese mineral-water and whiskey brands are made from. You can walk along this clear Ojiro-gawa river about half of this trailcourse!

My visiting report: 13-Jul-2015, cloudy

At 9:20AM, arriving at Ojirogawa-keikoku parking.
At 9:35AM, we started our trekking from Chikuu-Komagatake shrine. Crossing the suspention bridge over Ojiro-gawa river.
At 10:25AM, having a short break beside the clear stream. Coffee in the open air is a supreme relaxation.
At 12:10PM, we reached to Fudo-taki (waterfall) and the authentic mountain trekking would start from there.
At 13:15PM, we had rice balls for our lunch at a gazebo in front of a small waterfall "Nishiki-daki".
At 14:55PM, finally we get to the peak of Mt.Hinata-yama where covered with white sand. It's indeed "Beach in the sky" and we can view some of the most famous mountains in Japan, Yatsugatake, Kai-Komagatake and so on!
At 16:15PM, walking down through a tedious trail, we arrived at Yatate-ishi trailhead.
At 17:00PM, we got back to Chikuu-Komagatake shrine, and from there, 10 minutes walk to the parking.
