Overview of the mountain
Mt.Mitake-san is well known among Tokyo-residents because of the accessibility from central Tokyo. Although this mountain isn't so high that serious hikers are satisfied with, you can enjoy nature such as deep forest, a clear stream and a sacred waterfall.
The charm of this mountain is the "Rock garden", which is the trailcourse along a clear stream surrounded by big rocks. You don't need any skills to walk this trail, and it takes only 2 hours at most.
Mt.Mitake-san is also known as a mountain of faith. There is a shrine near the top and are some pilgrim's guesthouses in the mountain.
